Report on AGM
We are pleased to report an increased attendance at our AGM and a new
Committee has been elected for the forthcoming year. 2007 has been a
difficult year and problems with the Hall, some due to vandalism, has
resulted in the loss of some of our regular bookings.
Our Aim. Our strategic aim is to provide a management infrastructure and
governance that will allow us to proceed with bids for funding to provide
for a new Village Hall. In the meantime we have to keep our present hall in
as good a condition as possible in order that we can use it as an asset for
further fund raising to benefit our community and village.
Regular Car Boot Sales and a number of successful events such as the Quiz
Nights, Auctions, Craft Fair, Dances, Children’s Discos, the Skate Board Jam
and private events are now boosting our incomings.
We were also the only Official Sports Relief Mile in the Forest which
although did not boost our funds, did raise the Village profile, brought
everyone together despite the weather and put Yorkley firmly on the map.
We have now established our What’s On Community News Letter and we are
pleased to announce our new Web Site www.yorkley-village.co.uk. Much more is
on the stocks for the future such as the new Viney Hill and Yorkley Tidy
Group and the Yorkley Bookery we will keep the pressure on and welcome any
ideas or suggestions that you might have.
