January 2010

Once more Yorkley village life has been severely disrupted by snow.

The school, no doubt to the delight of the pupils, was closed for several days, deliveries of essential supplies and postal services were disrupted.

Our doctors & staff at the Health Centre did a marvellous job making surgeries available. The ambulance service attending emergency call outs at all hours of the day and night, no matter how severe the conditions.
Our brave milkmen, Francis James & his sister Jane, kept deliveries to our doorsteps flowing throughout, making full use of a more suitable vehicle for the conditions than their usual transport.
Thanks to Peter Herbert for the photograph.
